The NASCAR Sprint Cup series for 2010 is still in high gear with plenty of great racing action to go from June until November! So far this season, the defending champion Jimmie Johnson has had a tough time of it, but has still won several races. Kyle and Kurt Busch as well as Jamie McMurray, Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin have also had a few wins on the season. The top 10 has seen Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick in the lead for the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup series. It’s still anyone’s season in 2010 though!

You can watch races on television or if you’re the ultimate fan buy NASCAR tickets and attend a race live! FIFA World Cup in South Africa 2010 – groups & game schedules

It’s time once again for the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament where 32 teams from around the globe will be battling for the championship. The host for this year’s FIFA World Cup is South Africa for 2010. Games will be played in ten different venues including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Polokwane, Rustenberg and Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth.

The tournament’s 32 teams from a variety of nations are split into eight groups of four teams each. These teams will play one another at least once each for the first several weeks to determine their group points and standings.

Here’s a look at the eight groups for the FIFA tournament in South Africa 2010 categorized by letters A-H.

GROUP A:
France, Mexico, South Africa, Uruguay

GROUP B:
Argentina, Greece, Korea Republic, Nigeria

GROUP C:
Algeria, England, Slovenia, USA

GROUP D:
Australia, Germany, Ghana, Serbia

GROUP E:

The FIFA World Cup schedule kicks off on Friday June 11, 2010 with host country South Africa taking on Mexico in a highly-anticipated game. Team USA sees its first official action on Saturday 6/12/10 against Team England with stars Wayne Rooney (ENG) and Landon Donovan (US) taking to the field. UFC 115 Lidell vs Franklin fight card & PPV info

Saturday June 12, 2010 will be the latest Mixed Martial Arts Pay-Per-View event presented by Dana White’s UFC. This time around it will feature a main event which offers back-from-retirement Chuck Lidell against Rich Franklin. It was originally scheduled to be Lidell vs Ortiz, but Ortiz had to pull out due to neck surgery. “The Iceman” will look to return to form against Franklin who had three big name opponents in 2009 to give him even more experience in the Octagon. Here’s how the rest of the fight card will go on Saturday night, for the fourth UFC PPV in Canada. Check below for how to watch the event.

The UFC 115 Pay-Per-View will take place at General Motors Palace in Vancouver, British Columbia with a 10PM start time for the PPV. According to odds makers, right now Rich Franklin is favored to win due to his impressive previous bouts against Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort in 2009. He lost two of the three matches, but those three opponents provide crucial experience. Meanwhile, Lidell lost by a knockout from Mauricio Rua in 2009, and is returning from a 14-month retirement to fight.

Round of the NBA Playoffs 2010 is currently underway with basketball fans all across the country rooting for their respective teams. The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to defend their 2009 NBA Championship, while several other top tier teams would like to take the title for their city this year. Top teams include the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets. There could always be a surprise winner this year too, so look out!

Goldman Sachs fraud case – SEC files lawsuit for defrauding investors

Goldman Sachs fraud case announced, causes Wall Street stir - On Friday April 16, 2010 the SEC made the announcement that it would be filing a lawsuit against investment banking and securities firm, Goldman Sachs as well as VP Fabrice Tourre. The Goldman Sachs civil fraud suit arises from a mortgage package the company sold to investors, while knowing that a third party hedge fund company was betting against those mortgages. Pauls & Co., the hedge fund company involved, profited to the tune of at least a billion dollars and allegedly helped Goldman select bad mortgages to include as part of the package. The SEC is alleging that Goldman knowingly allowed investors to buy into the packages without disclosing the info about the third party’s involvement.

The particular product involved were mortgage-backed CDO’s (collateralized debt obligations) sold by Goldman Sachs from 2004-2008. A New York Times article in 2009 alleged that Goldman Sachs pressured Moody’s to rate the products higher than they should have been, and that many of the CDO’s Goldman sold performed very poorly. Goldman claimed it was hedging rather than expecting the CDO’s to fail. The one CDO in particular which brought about the SEC lawsuit is called Abacus 2007-AC1.

The Goldman Sachs stock tanked upon Wall Street investors getting a hold of the civil fraud suit news. The Goldman stock plummeted from $184.27 to $160.70 on April 16, 2010 after the news came out from the SEC. It was a loss of 13% which resulted in a loss of $10 billion in market value for the company.

Some outside business and legal professors believe the case may not have merit on the grounds that the investors who bought the product called “Abacus 2007-AAC1″, were savvy enough to make intelligent investment decisions. Others believe that Goldman was aware of Paulson’s involvment in the situation, yet downplayed it to their investors. Hearings will be held to receive testimony from key individuals in the Goldman Sachs banking organization.

Dancing with the Stars 2010 results for DWTS 10

Dancing with the Stars 2010 marks the 10th season of DWTS hosted by Tom Bergeron and new co-host Brooke Burke. The hit celebrity dance competition on ABC puts celebrities with professional dancers who teach them all the right moves, with the hopes of winning over the judges and America. The three judges are Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman who provide critiques of each celebrity dancer and then give a 1-10 score on their dance.

Each week votes are tallied from online, text and call-in voters to determine who will return to the show and who is voted off. Ultimately it comes down to one winning celebrity-pro dancer combo who is crowned the winner. In the past we’ve seen the likes of NFL star Emmit Smith, current DWTS co-host Brooke Burke, Olympic medalist skater Kristin Yamaguchi and entertainer Donny Osmond win the competition. One lucky celebrity will join the list of winners in 2010.

The 2010 Dancing with the Stars cast includes:
Erin Andrews, Aiden Turner, Pamela Anderson, Buzz Aldrin, Chad Ochocinco, Niecy Nash, Kate Gosselin, Nicole Scherzinger, Evan Lysacek, Shannon Doherty and Jake Pavelka. So far Evan Lysacek, Nicole Scherzinger and Pamela Anderson have been among the top scorers this season.

Here’s how the DWTS 2010 eliminations have gone so far:

UFC 112 Invincible – Fight card & PPV results!

Saturday April 10, 2010 was the date for Dana White’s latest UFC event. The “UFC 112: Invincible” Pay-Per-View took place on Saturday in United Arab Emirates, with the event airing on Pay-Per-View in the United States at 1PM EST. The top fights of the main card including Anderson Silva vs. Demian Maia. This fight saw Anderson Silva successfully defend the Middleweight Championship with a unanimous decision. Previously, Silva was scheduled to take on Vitor Belford who had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury.

Other matches included a lightweight championship bout between BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar. The fight between two United States fighters saw Edgar win by unanimous decision as well, to capture the UFC Lightweight Championship!

Tiger Woods golf update – Masters tournament 2010 schedule & results

Thursday was the start of the Masters golf tournament and Tiger woods was ready to get back into the swing of things. Tiger received a smattering of applause and cheers when his tee time finally arrived, and tipped his cap towards them before sending the ball deep and receiving more applause to welcome him back to golf.

On Thursday, Woods ended Round 1 in a tie for 7th place with Watney, Poulter, Bames and Kim, each of whom had a total score of 68. Fred Couples is the sole leader with a score of 66, but is trailed closely by five golfers tied for second with a 67 – Choi, Watson, Westwood, Mickelson and Yang.

As for Tiger, his return to the golf course comes after five months away. During that time, he’s been dealing with the major sex scandal that blew up last December following the bizarre car accident outside his Florida home. Since that incident, it’s been reported that Tiger had extramarital affairs with as many as 14 women or more, but there now appears to be another mistress coming forward – Tiger Woods’ neighbor who he knew since she was 14 years old, and slept with when she was 21.

The latest alleged Tiger Woods mistress is Raychel Coudriet, a daughter of Woods’ neighbor. Some are suspicious of the latest reports and their timing right as the Masters are underway, while others are saying she may have been outed and chose to reveal the allegations before someone else. According to reports, the girl had sexual relations with Tiger in his office last year, and admitted she had a “schoolgirl crush”, but later felt guilty for what happened. There’s been no comment from Woods or his people regarding the latest allegations.
